Master’s in Mathematics, Univ. of Pisa (1995), PHD in Mathematics, Univ. of Milan (2001), Senior Research Fellow at Boole Centre for Research in Informatics, UCC Cork (2002-2006). With the Univ. of Trento since 2007, currently Full Professor in Algebra and Director of the Laboratory of Cryptography. Since May 2017, Head of the Cyber Security & Cryptography Unit of the start-up Intellegit. Since October 2017, Acting Director of De Componendis Cifris (Italian association of cryptography). His research spans computational algebra, coding theory and cryptography, including numerous applications. Among the recent applications of cryptography, he has been specially active in blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. According to Scopus, he has published 48 papers, cited 187 times, reaching an h-index of 8. Supervised more than 70 Master’s theses and 15 PHD theses. He has led many research projects funded by companies, including: ABI-Consorzio Bancomat, Intesa San Paolo and Poste Italiane.
